Bidding at a Live Streamed Auction
Before bidding at any Allsop auction you must first register to bid. Once registered, you'll then need to know how to bid on auction day.
At a live streamed auction bids can be placed via the internet, by phone or by proxy.
You will need to select your bidding method when registering to bid.
Upon successful registration, you will receive an email from Allsop with your Unique Bidder ID which is required to be eligible to bid. Your Unique Bidder ID will be accessible in your Allsop account and you will also receive a reminder e-mail on auction day.
Bidding methods
Via the internet
On auction day you need to:
- Log on to the Allsop website
- Click the ‘Watch live auction now’ button which will open the bidding screen
- Place your bid when the Auctioneer opens the bidding on a lot you have registered for
- The Auctioneer will regulate the bidding and either accept or decline your bid according to other bids being made
We have created a short film to guide you through the steps of bidding via the internet at a live streamed auction.
By phone
On auction day:
- A member of the Auction team will call you just before the Auctioneer opens the bidding on a lot you have registered for
- They will then relay your bids to the Auctioneer
By proxy
- When registering to bid you are required to enter your 'Maximum Bid Price' (this will remain confidential between Allsop and you)
- Allsop will bid on your behalf up to and including this specified limit
- We will contact you after the auction if you are the successful bidder
When the gavel falls...
- If you are the successful bidder when the gavel falls, you have entered into a binding contract and are legally obliged to complete the purchase. You will be required to pay the balance of the 10% deposit by debit card or by bank transfer. We do not accept cheques, bankers drafts, cash or credit cards
- We will then send the signed Purchase Agreement to both the seller’s and your solicitors
- Completion takes place 20 working days from the auction date, unless otherwise stated in special conditions of sale for that lot
