Allsop hires Richard Brooke from C&W to lead commercial investment offering in north of England

Allsop has appointed Richard Brooke as a partner from Cushman & Wakefield to lead its commercial investment activity in the north of England. Richard will be based in the firm’s growing Leeds office and report to Jeremy Hodgson, head of Allsop’s national investment team

Before joining Allsop, Richard led Cushman & Wakefield’s Yorkshire and North East investment team, covering a broad range of commercial property sectors and advising a range of clients including Abrdn, Hines, Europa Capital and Leeds City Council. Recent career highlights include having advised London & Scottish Property Investment Management on the off-market acquisition of three office buildings in Yorkshire for a combined value of approximately £26 million; facilitated the sale of a prime multi-let industrial scheme for £29.3 million on behalf of Leeds City Council; and transacted the acquisition of a 200,000 sq ft distribution facility in Wakefield for approximately £20 million on behalf of Hines.

At Allsop, Richard will be focusing on a mix of asset classes, including office, logistics, mixed-use and assets with potential for a change of use, while working closely with Allsop’s specialist residential transactional and living markets department. Heading up Allsop’s commercial investment presence in the north of England, Richard’s appointment marks the latest milestone for the firm’s expanding Leeds office, which has recently seen two additions to its residential transactional team with the appointments of Jack Robson and Brad Harris, as well as the hiring of Brett Harrison to provide commercial valuations advisory services from Leeds.

Richard Brooke, partner at Allsop, said: “I couldn’t resist the opportunity to become a part of Allsop’s growth story, both in Leeds and on a national level, at a time when much of the industry is continuing to find its feet. The firm is well known for being one of the most prolific dealmakers in the country, and I look forward to working alongside colleagues to provide advice that ensures our clients secure the very best deals possible in a market that is constantly shifting.”

Jeremy Hodgson, partner at Allsop, said: “Richard is one of the most respected commercial property brokers in the north of England for very good reason. His appointment to our Leeds office will complement our existing national investment expertise, primarily based out of London, and ensure that we have the national coverage that our clients increasingly seek. As our Leeds office continues to grow, bringing in new talent across commercial and residential transactional and advisory services, we are constantly seeking to further improve how we deliver on behalf of our clients amid a challenging economic environment. We plan to continue recruiting across our business streams to secure UK real estate’s top talent, with Richard’s appointment the latest milestone in achieving that goal.”
