Allsop has released its September residential auction catalogue, which offers 295 lots, with 14 lots guided above £1m. The catalogue sees an increase of lots year on year, with the same auction last year offering 274. Whilst operating in an incomparable market, the strength of this catalogue shows positive signs for the residential sector following an unpredictable few months.
The highest value lot is lot 25 which is located on Balham Mews, in Balham, South West London and is a freehold development site with planning. The site, which extends to 9,171 sq ft, is currently a parade of single storey garages and has planning consent for seven three-storey bedroom houses with car and cycle parking. This lot is guided at £3.2m+.
In Newport, Wales, lot 121 is a freehold Grade II listed castle with farmhouse, bungalow, outbuildings and dovecote, spanning across 64.8 acres. The site has planning permission to restore the castle, convert the outbuildings to offices and develop the farmhouse and bungalow into 12 new dwellings. With multiple opportunities for the future use, including a private home or converting into a boutique hotel, the property is guided at £950,000+.
Richard Adamson, Auctioneer and Partner, said: “Our September auction catalogue is a reassuring sign that activity is returning to the residential market. With several development and renovation opportunities as well as turn-key and investment properties, there is a wide selection for buyers looking to take advantage of low interest rates and the stamp duty holiday.”
Highlights from the catalogue include:
- Lot 184, lot 185, lot 186, lot 187, lot 188, Margate, Kent – a leasehold self-contained four-storey flat to be offered together or separately on the seafront at Cliftonville in Margate. Total guide £750,000+
- Lot 82, Croydon, Surrey – a freehold development site with planning consent for a four-storey building to comprise eight apartments. Guide £1.1m – £1.2m+
- Lot 75, Haywards Heath, West Sussex – a freehold Grade II listed semi-detached two-bedroom house with rear garden, with potential for development, subject to consent. Guide £300,000 – £325,000+
To safeguard the wellbeing of staff, clients and buyers, and to comply with Covid-19 social distancing restrictions, Allsop’s forthcoming residential auction will be online-only.
The auction will take place on Thursday 17th September. Prospective buyers will need to register to bid online by Tuesday 15th September. To view the full details on how to bid online, please click here:
