RICHARD’S ROLE

I joined Allsop in 1989, soon after becoming a Chartered Surveyor in the same year. I have had the overall responsibility for the Lease Consultancy business since 2003. I take a particular interest in undertaking challenging landlord and tenant negotiations relating to rent reviews, lease renewals or dilapidations. My particular skill is understanding complex lease clauses and knowing how they can be used to negotiate the most favourable outcomes for my clients.

I am used to undertaking large high-profile cases. An example would be dealing with probably one of the largest rent reviews in the country on Embankment Place above Charing Cross Station. I was Expert Witness in the successful 5 day Arbitration oral hearing in which I was cross examined by Queen’s Counsel. I predominantly undertake negotiations on offices in Central London, but also retail & industrial (including ground rent reviews) and regularly takes cases to third party determination.
